100 Screenplays in 2020
I love movies, I love writing scripts, and I would love to see one of my scripts (pictured) become a movie.
In order to write great scripts, a writer must read scripts. Lots of them.
I did. But then, I got out of the habit of reading scripts due to a major life change.
This brings us recent events, to January 9, 2020, when I made a request to the Universe, asking: how can I get back to my screenwriting roots easily?
The Universe responded with its usual synchronicity by placing a writer friend’s Facebook post prominently in front of me.
That friend was Sadie Francis Skyheart and this was her challenge: #100Screenplays2020 – To read 100 scripts in 2020. On this website page, she provides links to award-winning scripts and other websites that provide many, many scripts.
Diana’s List of Scripts for 2020
My list of intended reads (alphabetized), downloaded so far. Once read, a script will become numbered.
- A Quiet Place – The most creepy/scary script I’ve read since reading Scream before it was being produced. I’m not sure I could watch it, even with the sound down (pun intended). This story gives me the chills just thinking about it!
- Little Women – my review is on Goodreads
- The Two Popes
- Marriage Story
- Parasite – I LOVED this script. Truly a one-of-a-kind story!
- Ad Astra – Brad Pitt is his usual great in this movie. It’s more of a character movie than an action-drama that I thought it was going to be. It’s worth watching but not one I want to see again.
